Food / Food Security
The Food Sector Coordination Group (FSCG) is a standard part of ongoing emergency response and was active in the post-tsunami response and in 2006 – 2007. It is made up of all Donor, NGOs, UN agencies in the food / food security field.
The FSCG is chaired by WFP with the support of FAO, In recognition of the significance of both food aid and food security (i.e. availability, accessibility and utilisation), in ensuring an effective emergency response to affected populations in food aid and nutrition related issues.
